Ken's Story

Ken Rosato, The Food Dude, spent the early part of his career working in the food industry - first, in his father’s luncheonette, then in his deli, and then in his pizzeria. This, combined with a childhood spent next to his Italian grandmother in her kitchen, gave Ken an education in food unlike any other. He would later take management jobs at several New York City area restaurants, and finally, Ken graduated the restaurant management program for a major commercial restaurant chain, where he would become a general manager. It was at that time that Ken realized being a foodie and loving to cook is entirely different from running a food business. One is done at a leisurely pace with little judgment, while the other can result in your termination with one bad meal.
Ken quickly realized the BUSINESS of food was not for him, so he decided to make a career out of his other love - broadcasting. He graduated NYU with a BFA in Film, Radio and TV and then received his MA in Italian and Spanish. He worked his way up in radio, first as a disc jockey, then as a news anchor and news director at small to large radio stations in and around New York City. He then switched to TV news anchoring and worked as a primary anchor at some of the largest network-owned TV stations in New York and Miami. Ken can now be heard as he fills-in on iHeartRadio mega station 710 WOR in New York, and can be regularly seen as a host on the nationally-syndicated Salem News Channel.
Ultimately, Ken decided to combine his two major life skills - food and mass communications - and created The Food Dude website, where you can listen to his short-form and long-form food podcasts.
Ken is married and makes his home both in New Jersey and Florida.
